Profile: Francesca Campolongo, born
in 1970, graduated in Applied Mathematics’ at University of Pisa, Italy, in
1993. In 1998 she completed her PhD in modeling and sensitivity analysis at the
Faculty of Environmental Sciences of Griffith University, QLD, Australia. Since
March 1998 she has been working at the Joint Research Centre of the European
Commission (Ispra, Italy), where she also obtained in 2002 a prize as "best JRC
young scientist of the year".
Her main research interests
focus on mathematical modeling in a variety of fields and on uncertainty and
sensitivity analysis. Since March 2000 she has been developing expertise in the
field of financial econometrics and financial risk analysis. Working in support
to EU policy makers she has developed skills in calibration and impact
assessment of financial directives, with particular attention to the banking and
insurance sectors. She has over 20 scientific publications on refereed journals
and is co-author of 3 books on sensitivity analysis published by Wiley. |
